Be the change you wish to see in the world.
-Mahatma Gandhi
The density of these words still carries on today. In this world, there seems to be those who say, and those that do. What kind of person would you like to be? If you’re one of those people who would like to be a participant in the changing of this world, then try and see how you can make and impact through volunteering abroad.
There are many ways to make an impact on this planet, but one great way to start is by acting for the social benefit. With so many locations and programs available throughout the world, your choices are fruitful as is your opportunity to make an impact through volunteering. Change does not usually happen in the confines of your kitchen, but it most certainly does when you go abroad. You’re basically saying to world, “I am ready. I want to go. I wish to make an impact abroad.” If you can proclaim that with enthusiasm, you’re beginning to gather all the right ingredients for a successful journey.
Regretfully, the world is full of the people who “have,” and the people who “have not.” However, if you make the decision to make an impact through activism, you are on your way to bridging the gap of equality.
In all reality, you might not change the entire world, but that’s quite okay. What you are doing by volunteering abroad is becoming another stone on the path, or piece of the puzzle. You’re also not alone. Throughout the world there are other people like you who want to make an impact through volunteering and activism. With this global community of change-makers, great possibilities are capable of manifesting.
As you’re on your way to making an impact through volunteering abroad, don’t forget about the many different types of impact that you can make. You might be helping a rural village, or an urban school. You could be preserving a native plant species, or protecting endangered animals. There are many different avenues for impact, but take note that you are also capable of being equally impacted. It offers you to make an impact in a foreign place, but it also allows for that impact to reflect inside yourself. It’s an equally beneficial process.
Take a time in your to give back to those who need it. Be one of the people that don’t talk about change, but pursue it through action. Making an impact through the volunteer opportunities you earn is possible, and just waiting for you to take the steps needed. Every step you take, is one that will bring the positive impact on others life, living or non-living.
